How to Download Maps from Google Maps

Google Maps is a great tool when you need to go to a place that you do not know well. It would be a perfect travel companion in the car, but often you do not have Internet connection necessary to consult with your smartphone or laptop. In these cases, the best solution would display maps, save them and print them to take them with you in paper form. Yes, but how?

I’ll give you the answer, with Google Map Saver . This is an excellent free program for Windows that lets you save Google Maps locally in the form of images, so you can print freely without wasting ink and having only the part of the map that really interests us. If you want to discover how to save Google Maps using it, well follow the “straight” I’m about to give you.

If you want to discover how to save Google Maps , the first step you need to do is connect to the website Google Map Saver and click the blue DOWNLOAD GMS which is located in middle of the page. On the page that opens, click once on the button DOWNLOAD GMS (bottom of page) to download the program on your PC.

Open the download is complete, double click on it, the program gms_v1_0_3.exe just downloaded, click Run to authorize the execution of the program and you will find yourself immediately in front of the main screen Google Map Saver . The program, in fact, does not need to installations in order to operate properly.



To save Google Maps with Google Map Saver , you have to do is follow the instructions on the first screen of the program. Then type the name of the city and the country of which you want to save the map in the Location / POI (eg Rome, Italy ), which specifies the size of the map must be saved in the Resolution (leaving on Window Size, a map will be saved the size of the window that appears on the desktop), the zoom level of the map in zoom , the type of map to display in the Map Type (choose Map for the simple map, Satellite for viewing by satellite without indications Hybrid for viewing satellite with directions or Terrain for a simple map more detailed) and click GO! to view the map.

At this point, wait a few seconds for Google Map Saver loads the Google map you requested, if you want to navigate to a specific point of it which you want to save and when it becomes available, click the Save Capture as to save the map displayed on your PC. In the window that opens, select the folder in which to save the map, click on Save and you’re done. By default, the program saves the maps in JPG format, but you can also choose other image formats scrolling through the drop down menu located next to the button to save the map.
