Microsoft Windows 10 Threshold 2 Build 10565: New Features & Bugs

While Microsoft hardware teams present their new products on stage, software teams are still working on the new version of Windows 10 that is to be commercialized within a month.

Compared to previous build, the new version brings several fairly interesting new developments. Let’s start with Windows activation system, Microsoft will simplify the activation of Windows 10. So far to qualify for the free upgrade, it was first installed Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or Windows 8.1 and then proceed with the update, and activate Windows license with a Microsoft account. It will now be possible to activate Windows 10 directly with a product key of Windows 7 or Windows 8. This new capability sets the stage for complex procedures without own facilities, for people with a product key for Windows 7 or 8.

Another new feature is the universal application messages developed by the Skype team is arriving on new build. This application becomes the official Skype application for Windows 10 Store and synchronizes conversations with its Windows Mobile 10 with access to the same application. Ultimately, the application will be able to synchronize the SMS, hope it will also be possible to send SMS directly from the computer by using the phone as a relay.

Known issues

This build is very stable since the release of Windows 10, but has some known bugs.

First, the Xbox application  suffers from a bug which makes it consume more RAM if you have win32 classic games on your computer. To fix this problem, simply terminate the application.
The search bar will not work if Windows 10 is set up with a country where Cortana has not launched yet. Microsoft is actively working on a fix for this problem.

The WebM codecs and VP9 are currently no longer supported in Microsoft Edge, but expected to return in a future build.

A bluescreen problem can affect small devices like Dell Venue 8 Pro during the update. If this is the case, the device will return to the previous build

Microsoft is Preparing Surface Phone

As rumored for many years, the project of a high-end smartphone manufactured by the team in charge of surface appears to become more and more specific, American Website Windows Central is convinced.

For the moment we know very few things on Surface phone, if not it is indeed prepared in Microsoft Office. Yet there are many theories to spread and issues to be addressed. Between Canceled Projects and Restructuring

We imagine that it could reuse the joint work of Intel and Microsoft on the phone with Intel canceled.

When presenting Surface Book, Panos Panay said that the purpose of the surface team was to always upset a market when it comes and inspire other manufacturers. Hard to imagine, for the moment, that the surface team could invent in the sector already busy manufacturing smartphones, where every month released a new flagship with a new gimmick.

Regarding the release date, as each flagship operating system editor, the Surface Phone is expected to be released with a major release of Windows. So instead releasing the Surface Phone between June and August, it would be released after October with Windows 10 Redstone 2. We can expect an announcement in late 2016 with a Surface Pro 4, Surface Book 2 and Microsoft Band 3.
